Implant-Assisted Dentures in Greendale WI

Snap-in dentures (implant-retained overdentures) attach securely to 2–4 implants that lock into the denture base like a snap button. No adhesives, no slipping, no embarrassment — and you can still remove them at night if you choose to.

What it is

A denture that actually stays put.

Snap-in dentures use small titanium implants — typically two on the lower arch, two to four on the upper — as anchor points. Metal or nylon connectors (called locators) are embedded in the denture base, which snap onto the implants and hold securely all day.

Unlike a traditional denture that floats on gum tissue, a snap-in overdenture has zero movement. You can bite into food normally, speak without worry, and remove the denture at the end of the day for cleaning — or choose a fixed configuration that doesn't come out at all.

Why patients love snap-ins

The confidence upgrade traditional dentures can't give you.

Zero slippage

Once snapped in, your denture moves with you — not independently. Eat, laugh, and speak without ever worrying that your teeth will shift or come loose.

Preserves your jawbone

The implants act as tooth roots, stimulating bone and preventing the facial sagging that traditional denture-wearers experience over time.

Fewer implants, lower cost

Only 2–4 implants are needed versus 4–6 for full-arch fixed. This makes snap-in dentures a more accessible entry point to implant-supported restoration.

Easy to clean

Remove your denture each night, rinse it, and brush as you normally would. The implants themselves just need routine brushing — no special equipment.

Upgrade path to fixed

Your implants can support a fixed prosthesis later if you choose to upgrade. Snap-in can be a smart starting point with a clear path forward.

Custom denture included

Your new denture is custom-crafted for your exact mouth shape, bite, and aesthetics — not a generic off-the-shelf set.

The process

How we do it

01

Consultation & imaging

We assess your bone, existing denture (if you have one), and overall oral health. You'll leave with a clear plan, timeline, and cost — no obligation.

02

Implant placement & healing

2–4 titanium implants are placed in an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. Your existing denture can often be modified to fit over the healing implants during this phase.

03

Snap attachment & delivery

Once healed, locator attachments are fitted into your denture. We verify the snap, the bite, and the fit. You walk out with a denture that finally stays where it belongs.

Are you a candidate?

Good candidates include most current denture wearers.

If you're already wearing a denture and want it to stop moving, snap-in is often the most direct upgrade. We also work with patients transitioning from failing teeth. We evaluate:

Enough bone for 2–4 implants (less than full-arch requires)
Healthy or treatable gum tissue
Current denture-wearer frustrated with movement or adhesives
Good overall health suitable for minor oral surgery

The Schedule Consultation alone was worth it — Dr. Caputo gave me a clear roadmap and a number I could plan around. No pressure at all. My snap-in denture hasn't moved once.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I use my existing denture?

Often yes. If your existing denture is in good condition and fits reasonably well, we can retrofit it with snap attachments rather than making a brand new one — which reduces cost. We'll assess this at your consultation.

How many implants do I need?

For the lower arch, 2 implants is typically sufficient and is the most common configuration. The upper arch requires at least 4 because the palate has less bone density and more surface area. Dr. Caputo will recommend the right number for your anatomy.

What if the snap wears out over time?

The locator attachments (the plastic or nylon parts that create the snap) do wear with use and typically need to be replaced every 1–2 years. This is an inexpensive, in-office procedure that takes just a few minutes — nothing to worry about.

How much do snap-in dentures cost?

A lower arch with 2 implants and a new denture typically starts around $5,000–$8,000. An upper arch with 4 implants ranges from $9,000–$14,000. We provide a complete, itemized estimate at your Schedule Consultation. Financing is available.

Is snap-in better than full-arch fixed?

Full-arch fixed is more stable, more comfortable long-term, and better for bone preservation since it uses more implants. But snap-in costs less, requires fewer implants, and is still dramatically better than a floating conventional denture. We'll walk you through both options so you can decide what's right for your goals and budget.
